We would like to share an important decision with you. We are very sorry, but we will not be organising another edition of Metronome Prague festival in 2027. At this point, this means the end of a unique metropolitan festival tradition under the Metronome Prague name.
There are several reasons behind this decision. We knew that metropolitan festivals face many challenges, but we believed that we could overcome the various obstacles in Prague. Despite your support, your personal involvement and your cooperation in developing Metronome Prague, we were unable to secure enough audiences and long-term strategic partners to make it possible to continue in the future.
The situation is also connected to the current social environment in the city of Prague. From the very beginning, we received a certain level of support and encouragement from Prague City Hall, for which we are grateful. However, this support was not sufficient or comprehensive enough to allow us to continue developing the festival.
The atmosphere surrounding the festival, further intensified by individual complaints, has also made it increasingly difficult in recent years to organise the event in a way that would allow us to present the main concerts to the highest possible standard in the evening hours, followed by additional late-night programming in covered venues.
We were unable to fulfil the agreements and objectives necessary to make an international event of this scale possible in a capital city.
We are nevertheless grateful that, for ten years, we were able to bring you a wide range of musical events as part of Metronome Prague and that we helped place Prague on the cultural and musical map of the world as one of its vibrant cultural and music capitals.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has been part of the Metronome Prague journey – our audiences, partners, supporters and patient suppliers.
Although the festival cannot continue at this point, we believe it was worth it.
We are preparing new music events for you. They will no longer be concentrated into a single weekend, but will take place at different times throughout the year.
