When you hear the word shoegaze, one of the first bands that comes to mind has to be Slowdive. A group of friends from Reading, England, they began creating music in 1989 that seemed to float rather than walk. Their albums Just for a Day (1991) and especially Souvlaki (1993) became synonymous with lush soundscapes, layered guitars, and dreamlike vocals. After years of silence, their triumphant 2017 comeback cemented their cult status.
At Metronome Prague 2026, Slowdive will deliver a set that’s both meditative and cathartic. Expect to hear “Alison,” “When the Sun Hits,” “Sugar for the Pill,” and their recent single “Kisses.” A must-see for all lovers of melancholy and beautiful noise.
